1. EUROPEAN GNSS PROGRAMMES EGNOS AND GALILEO

Mr. Pieter De Smet – European Commission DG Tren
Mr. Pieter De Smet works for unit G4 - EU Satellite Navigation Programmes: Applications, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) of the Directorate-General (DG) for Energy and Transport.

The DG headed by Matthias Ruete, exercises political scrutiny over the aviation, maritime and railway safety agencies, the Galileo Joint Undertaking and the European GNSS Supervisory Authority.

Mr De Smet’s presentation provides a wide overview of European GNSS Programmes with particular attention to EGNOS and Galileo.

2. COMPASS/BEIDOU-CHINA’S GNSS

Dr. Shen - BNStar Navigation Technology and Systems
Dr. Shen is currently Chief Executive Officer of BNStar Navigation Technology and Systems, Inc.,

BNStar Navigation Technology & System Co., Ltd. (BNStar) is a company devoted to satellite navigation technology and equipment R&D. Its major shareholders include China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) and BDStar Navigation Co.,Ltd (BDStar Navigation).

In the past years, BNStar has successfully developed various types of Beidou/COMPASS satellite navigation terminals and platforms, becoming one of the major suppliers in the field.

Dr. Shen provides a thorough overview of Compass policies and the Chinese project to develop an independent global satellite navigation system.

Ing. Carla Filotico – Booz & Company
DBooz & Company is a leading global management consulting firm, helping the world's top businesses, governments and other institutions. Booz & Company is known worldwide for its ability to deliver foresight and impact.

Mrs. Carla Filotico, who has 10 years of consulting experience, is part of the Global Aerospace and Transportation group, responsible for the aerospace and aviation practice in Italy and the space business in Europe in Booz &Co.

Her presentation introduces the market dynamics and provides an overview of the scenario in Italy and the Lazio Region.

4. UK NATIONAL COUNCILLOR PRESENTATION

Mr. Robert Winter - Asiasetup
Mr. Robert Winter is the Director of Asiasetup Management Consulting.

As a consultant with more than 10 years experience working and living in Asia (Shanghai, Hong Kong and Korea) and with a broad international business experience across the region, Mr. Winter has direct experience setting up companies in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

Asiasetup provides full support to companies seeking an entry strategy to Asia.

Mr. Winter represented Hertfordshire Business Incubation Centre, the UK partner in Sidereus.

5. SPAIN NATIONAL COUNCILLOR PRESENTATION

Mrs Begogna Benito - GAIA
Mrs. Begona has many years of experience working in GAIA, the Association of Industries for Electronic and Information Technologies in the Basque country (Spain).

GAIA is a non-profit, private and professional entity, created in 1983, which currently comprises 240 companies.

Mrs. Begogna’s presentation provides an overview of important experiences in the Aerospace economic context in Basque region.

6. EUROPE- CHINA: IPR DESK AND ADVISORY SERVICES

Mr. Elio De Tullio- De Tullio & Partners Law Studio
Mr. Elio De Tullio is a lawyer, as well as intellectual and industrial property attorney. Mr. De Tullio created the De Tullio, Liberatore & Partners law firm in 2005.

He is the Vice-Secretary General of the Italian-Argentinean Chamber of Commerce and a legal advisor for the Istituto di Economia dei Media (I.E.M.) of the Fondazione Rosselli.

He collaborates as an expert for the European Commission in the framework of the Taiex Programme and with the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Division (SMEs Division) of WIPO.

Mr De Tullio presents the China IPR Help Desk that supports European SMEs with the knowledge and tools required to develop the value of their Intellectual Property rights.

7. GNSS OUR COMMON AND JOINT UNDERTAKING

Mr. WANG Wenjian - China Academy of Space Technology
Mr. WANG Wenjian, Senior Engineer in Spacecraft System Engineering, was present on behalf of the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), one of the five shareholders of China Galileo Industries (CGI).

China Galileo Industries is one of the leading state-owned satellite navigation companies and the prime contractor for Galileo-related programs in China.

8. CHINA ACADEMY OF SPACE TECHNOLOGY

Ms Lu Yu  - CCA
Ms Lu Yu is Secretary General of CCA.

CCA, a Sidereus partner, is a non-profit and self-disciplinary social body of the Chinese consulting area. Acting as a bridge between the consulting service and the government, CCA is an important driving force in developing the country's Consulting Industry.
