Coordinated by Filas, the Financial Development Agency of the Regione Lazio.
Promoting development and innovation in the entrepreneurial system.
The Project OMEN logo
is based on the Phoenician alphabet, the proto-alphabet
that evolved into ancient Greek and Latin as well
as the progenitor of most modern Western and near-Eastern
alphabetic systems including Cyrillic, Arabic,
Persian and Ethiopian.
Clearly the Phoenician alphabet proved to be one
of the most important innovations of its time
and projected its influence far into the future.
It is with this same spirit that project OMEN
strives to forge tools to understand, modernise
and project Regional Innovation into a new stage.
In fact, the stylised symbols underlying the four
Phoenician phonemes that compose the word "OMEN"
(eye, water, window, fish) lend themselves to
a perfect syllogism.
Just as a fish swims through water, an eye looks
through a window and, in our case, this is a window
on the future of regional innovation, benchmarking
and policy assessment.
"Omen Nomen" as the Ancients used to
say. Our destiny is in our name.
