ImMediaTe at the Amsterdam Creative Industries Seminar Feb. 5, 2010
The creative industries are a highly significant economic reality that catalyses the economy with knowledge and dynamism. “Towards a Pan-European initiative in support of innovative creative industries in Europe” (Feb. 4-5, 2010) centred on the economic importance of the creative industries for growth and innovation.
The seminar identified key drivers of this sector and discussed which business environment could be most conducive to them. Based on this analysis, policy recommendations were presented on strategic European support measures for innovation in the creative industries and discussed with the relevant stakeholders.
Two speakers, representing Project ImMediaTe, addressed the participants during the session focusing on “Access to Finance for Entrepreneurship and Growth in the Creative Industries”.
Mr. Carlo Donzella, ImMediaTe Technical Manager for Filas, held a presentation on “New Forms of Financing for the Creative Industries: the example of the ImMediaTe Project”. In particular, Mr. Donzella summarised Filas’ vast experience in this area and presented a new interpretation on how to close the gap and find an effective intersection between two different business/financing models: financing and content production.
Mr. Thierry Baujard, President of Media-deals and ImMediaTe Partner, described the experience that Media-deals bring to the consortium in terms of a pan-European investment network and convergence between finance, technology and content production.
Project ImMediaTe aims to supports SMEs and larger companies in the digital media and creative industries by developing and integrating the tools and services provided by the 10 project partners to the Digital Media Clusters in Rome, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Malta. Moreover, the consortium will develop an innovative business services organisation to assist European ventures in this sector and catalyse their full growth potential.
