The ImMediaTe “Digital Solutions for Creative Cities” Summit May 13, 2011
International Conference and Investment Forum
The ImMediaTe Consortium is currently organising the ImMediaTe “Digital Solutions for Creative Cities” Summit that will be held in Parison June 23-24, 2011 (Le CentQuatre - 104 Rue d'Aubervilliers 75019).
Europe must invest in new sources of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth drivers to remain competitive. Cultural and creative industries (CCIs) are a source of growth and jobs that contribute ca. 2.6% of the EU GDP and play a crucial role in the deployment of the information society.
CCIs not only catalyse adaptations and new developments of technology, but also provide an innovation-friendly environment as they are at the core of the digital shift and shape social and cultural trends. As a matter of fact, firms that make proportionately greater use of CCIs services perform significantly better on innovation.
The "Digital Solutions for Creative Cities" Summit will concentrate on major areas of digital media and creative industries, including e-Education and Future of the City (sustainable development) and will be based on the successful model deployed by ImMediaTe and feature conferences animated by leading Creative Industries specialists, investors and major corporations, coaching and pitching sessions and showcase sessions.
The Smart Cities Forum will be held in Paris as part of Futur en Seine, an international festival of digital life and creativity organized by Cap Digital, a partner of Project ImMediaTe.
Futur on Seine provides the opportunity for the creative digital industry and general public to meet, exchange, and explore innovative ideas, products and services relating to the digital future. The event is held on a biennial basis in the Paris Region, and has already gained the status of a unique, festive and compelling international digital event. The first edition of Futur en SEin attracted over 75, 000 visitors, including 5000 industry professionals, and reached an audience of almost one million people.
