IPR for Creative Talents

IPR for Creative Talents, which will be held in Amsterdam on September 23-24, 2010, is the second in a series of events organised by ImMediaTe clusters after the Barcelona event (June 17-18, 2010) on mobile applications.
The event aims to strengthen the market position of digital media SMEs operating in the Creative Industries by controlling IPR.
On Friday, September 24, following an opening address by Mr. Reinhard Buescher from the European Commission and a brief presentation by ImMediaTe Project Director Michela Michilli, the session will investigate how SMEs can strengthen their market position by controlling IPR through the perspectives of leading European digital media SMEs, clusters, cluster networks, ImMediate project participants, legal advisers, senior academic researchers and leading industry representatives.

Auke Ferwerda, Director of MediaGuild (NL) will moderate the main panel. Invited guests include: Mr. Veli-Pekka Niitamo, Director ICT Research and Innovationat NOKIA; Mr. Paul Keller, Collecting Societies Liason at Creative Commons International; Mr. Jens van der Brink, Partner of Kennedy van der Laan – Innovatieve Advocaten (NL); Mrs. Annelies Kaptein, CEO StoneRoos Interactive TV; Prof. Simon Bolton, Chair of Creative Design at the University of Canfield and Mr. Stanley Wang, Institute for Information Industry (III), Taipei, Taiwan (TBC) (input from South East Asia)

   
 
 
During the afternoon session, interactive coaching sessions from leading specialists and coaches from two different and complimentary areas of IPR - legal/theoretical and business – will be made available to all participating SMEs.

All ImMediaTe event participants will also have the opportunity to participate in the concurrent sessions of PICNIC 2010 the event that aims to forge creativity and innovation.
