Method for early diagnosis and prognosis of Parkin |
Researchers at a German university have developed a simple test for determining the risk of being affected by Parkinson?s disease (PD), based on a DNA analysis of peripheral blood cells. It allows for a diagnosis of PD at a very early stage and may permit assessing a personīs risk of developing PD when becoming older, even if symptoms are not yet present. Biotech, pharmaceutical or healthcare companies are sought for commercial exploitation or further co-development. |

Novel apoferritin nanoparticle for imaging |
A Finnish research group has developed a method to produce apoferritin nanoparticles consisting of globular protein gage with a hollow core. Targeting ligands are genetically fused on the particles. Targeting ligands are located in same positions (N-terminus) and thus the quality and the binding properties of the particles are homogenous. Invention can be applied in drug delivery, in vivo imaging, in vitro diagnostics and drug discovery. Partner is sought for developing commercial applications. |
